Welcome to the Oakville Handweavers and Spinners Guild Blog. We started in 1952 and since then we have taken part in many local community activities. Members of our Guild demonstrate spinning or weaving at historical sites throughout Oakville; we network with Guilds in surrounding areas by means of workshops and seminars; we participate with other local Guilds in textile exhibitions and provide individual and group instruction in weaving and spinning.

past images
I recently found these images that where given to me by Helena Asikainen.
Here with Mary Foster preparing the silk fusion fibre base for the tree project made in group for the Guilded Threads, one of the 14 exhibition in the World of Threads Festival 2009.
Thank you Mary and Helena for your work. It really made a difference!
Not only was a beautiful day, but Helenas house was very inspiring!
